Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially when you are not sure whether you will qualify. This page provides a clear picture of what our programs require so you can move forward with confidence.
And if something on this list gives you pause, please call us before assuming the answer is no. We would rather talk through your situation than have you walk away without support.
Residential Program Eligibility
To be considered for our residential program, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a Missouri resident
- Provide proof of pregnancy
- Be at or below 185% of the federal poverty level
- Have no active warrants
- Have no history of assaults
- Be substance-free upon entry, including alcohol, illegal substances, marijuana, tobacco, and vaping products
- Be willing to participate in prenatal care and smoking cessation support
- Agree to a mental health evaluation within 30 days of moving in
- Be compliant with any prescribed mental health medications
- Be willing to follow all house rules.
Smoking cessation support is available through our program for women who need it.
Non-Residential Program Eligibility
To qualify for community client services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a Missouri resident
- Provide proof of pregnancy
- Be at or below 185% of the federal poverty level
- Be willing to participate in prenatal care and educational classes
- Be able to provide the requested documentation.
A Note on Accessibility
Our maternity home is a historic property and includes stairs. If you have physical mobility needs, we encourage you to reach out so we can discuss your specific situation and work with you to find the best available option.
We never want a barrier to stand in the way of getting you the support you need.
How to Apply
For both the residential and non-residential programs, the first step is a phone or in-person interview with our Program Director. This is a conversation. We want to get to know you, understand your situation, and help determine which services are the best fit for you.

What If You Do Not Qualify?
If you do not meet our eligibility requirements or if we do not have space available, we will not simply turn you away. Our team will work with you to identify other organizations and resources that may be able to help.
Everyone who reaches out will be provided with some form of support or direction.
